Father to Son (CD)
Eric Willis studied jazz with Alvin Batiste at Southern University and was a percussionist in the 77th U.S. Army Band. After military service, he settled in Dallas where he gained a reputation for his broad range of musical stylings. He toured with recording Wayman Tisdale for ten years and also composed the title song to Tom Braxton's first national release, entitled, "Bounce" (Rendezvous/Sony). Eric also worked with Kirk Whalum, Mikki Howard, Angela Bofill, Melba Moore and played dates with Rick Braun, Peter White, Eric Darius and other great artists.
His new endeavor is a work entitled, "Father to Son," a music collaborative work with his son, Joshua. In addition, Eric has a book entitled, Father to Son (Words of Wisdom Every Son Should Consider). The two are meant to be (loose) companions and a venture that gives his son a first opportunity to employ business practices.
Eric's goal is to advance his music and book publishing by releasing products that are engaging and relevant to culture.
His literary works include:
Piano Quick - Teaching music theory to those who play by ear
Handle Your Business: Music Publisher: Teaches publishing and copyright administration
Turn on the Light - Exposing Abuse Without Confronting Your Abuser
Father to Son - Wisdom Literature
